PacPhone, OpenMCU,GNUGK

Discussion/Questions on how to configure the PacPhone

PacPhone, OpenMCU,GNUGK

Postby sancher on Mon Oct 26, 2009 8:52 pm

Hello
I' m trying to configure PacPhone to work as a client in videoconferce based on OpenMCU and GNUGK.
But I have a problem.
When I try to call to OpenMCU I have: Gatekeeper termination.
In the Advance settings there is no information about gatekeeper (Router Assistant - Not Detected).
Can anybody help me. I will appreciate you.

P.s. I've tried IPContact and it works good, it can automatically detect my gatekeeper.

What version of GnuGK are you using?
Is the OpenMCU registered to the gatekeeper?
If you are using versions prior to 2.3.1 then there may be an error with H.460.23/.24. Disable H.460.23/.24 and try only using H.460.18/.19.

Also If you are using H.460.23/.24 make sure you are using a valid STUN server and it running.

Thank you for your reply, Simon.

I'm using GNUGk 2.2.6-63.1.
OpenMCU is registred to the gatekeeper, cause I use section

[RasSrv::PermanentEndpoints]
127.0.0.1:1720=mcu //my OpenMCU

Where can I disable H.460.23/.24 and try only using H.460.18/.19?
Also it's strange: when I start gatekeeper it writes: Gatekeeper(GNU) Version(2.2.6) Ext(pthreads=1,radius=1,mysql=0,pgsql=0,firebird=0,large_fdset=0,crypto/ssl=1) Build(Jun 7 2008, 04:11:03) Sys(Linux i686 2.6.27.19-5-pae)
I don't understand why radius=1, I'm not using Radius,crypto/ssl=1 - I'm not using it too.

GnuGk v2.3.1 fully supports H.460.18/.19/.23/.24

You can enable them via
[RoutedMode]
EnableH46018=1
EnableH46023=1
H46023STUN={stun server}

GnuGk has call failover since version 2.2.4 and since 2.2.3, you can
use [FileIPAuth] to authenticate by IP number. I also see installations
having 400-500 proxy calls on a regular Linux server and even more in
routed mode. But beyond that, most users cluster servers, indeed.

But GnuGk isn't perfect and maybe a few others on the list could share
their experience comparing GnuGk to other commercial systems.

Best Regards,
