PRESS RELEASE: 2006.07.24

Worlds First Secure H.323 Instant Messaging Client

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SINGAPORE 2006.07.24- Packetizer APAC is pleased to announce the release of the latest version of its advanced ground-breaking secure NAT-Aware H.323 softphone: PacPhone

Building on it's reputation as a secure VoIP pioneer, PacPhone is pleased to release the world's first secure H.323 compliant Instant Messaging client. Using pre-existing H.323 call signalling, PacPhone can place Secure Instant Messages across already deployed H.323 networks. Augmenting the already outstanding secure voice call quality of PacPhone, the instant messager client can be used in two modes, QuickMessage™(similar to SMS) or in the longer traditional Instant Message session.

Requiring NO network upgrades, Secure Instant Messages can be sent inside and outside a call and message contents may be secured by way of an AES 256bit cipher with a per-session generated encryption key.

Secure Instant Messages can be placed cross Asterisk, Cisco Call Manager, GnuGk gatekeeper etc without requiring any updates. Instant Messaging gateways, currently under development, may be deployed into existing networks that will allow the transmission of these messages to and from Jabber, SIP/Simple or SMS clients.

The superb NAT Traversal capabilities are further bulstered with secure calls now being able to be placed, using upcoming versions of GnuGk, to and from NATed clients without the need to proxy media AT ALL putting PacPhone a FULL generation ahead of any other standards based softphone on the market.

Now available in 8 languages, PacPhone supports Windows NT, Windows 2000 and XP.

PacPhone is an advanced H.323 softphone capable of ubiquitous, end-to-end certificate based authentication and high media encryption (to AES256). The call quality and performance is unsurpassed with QoS (both ToS and DSCP), Acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) and supporting a variety of USB handsets completely plug 'n play. It's call management is first class with a 3 line internal PBX which supports call holding (with music), forwarding and diversion. If used in conjunction with the open source gatekeeper GnuGk it is able to seemlessly receive and make calls behind firewalls/routers without requiring any special configuration. The softphone is based on open source projects (OpenH323 and OpenSSL) and is fully H.323 compliant.
